With my time at SEND, I have had the chance to edit many videos, and play different roles in that process, from writing and planning, to production as well as post-production. I use this particular video in my portfolio becuase I had a hand in all three stages of development for "Should I go?"
While I did not write the script, I did write the treatment and outline, and worked with our on-staff writer for the final script. On the production side, I found the location for the coffee house and secured it for us to shoot in and acted as camea operator for the shoot. For post-production, I found the time-lapse video, stock music and edited the video using Premiere Pro.
Meeting the expressed needs of SEND's leadership. I was able to use this video to bundle this with three other videos and use it as a mini-DVD handout as a way of introducing college and university students to the organization with a challenge to get involved in service opportunities through SEND or other similar organizations.
Certainly I did not act alone, and had a good deal of input form the Communication Director, as well as the rest of the department for valuable suggestions and input. The benefit of being in a very small creative department meant that I had a lot more responsibility and opportunity to stretch and grow as a designer.
